46-7-2. Power of commission to regulate motor common or contract carriers generally


Unless expressly prohibited by federal law, the commission is vested with power to regulate the business of any person engaged in the transportation as a common or contract carrier of persons or property, either or both, for hire by motor vehicle on any public highway of this state.
